How to Use the PSP Custom Theme Converter

The PlayStation Portable (PSP) Custom Theme Converter is a piece of freeware software created by Sony that allows you to create your own wallpapers, themes and icons for the PSP. The program is compatible with firmware up to version 6.20. You run the converter software on your computer and then transfer themes and wallpapers to your PSP. As long as you have pictures on your computer you can create your own themes with PSP Custom Theme Converter.

Instructions

      Open "PSP Custom Theme Converter" on your PC. Instructions vary depending on where you have it installed, but for example double-click the icon on your desktop.

      Click the "Wallpaper" tab. Click which wallpaper you want to change. Click "Edit" and click the picture you want to add as a wallpaper to your theme. Click "Add." Click "Preview" to view the wallpaper.

      Click the "Category Icons" tab. Select which icon you want to change and click "Edit." Select a picture for the icon smaller than 30 pixels by 30 pixels and click "Add." Click "Preview" to preview the icons.

      Click the "First Level Icons" tab. Click which icon you want to change and click "Edit." The picture must be smaller than 30 pixels by 30 pixels. Click "Add." Click "Preview" to preview the icons.

      Click the "Second Level Icons" tab. Click the icon you want to change. Click "Edit." Click a picture for the icon smaller than 30 pixels by 30 pixels. Click "Add." Click "Preview" to preview the icons.

      Click "File" and "Save" and name the theme. Click "Save."

      Plug one end of the mini-USB cable into your PSP and the other end into your PC. Click "Start," "Computer" and double-click the PSP. Double-click the "Settings" folder. Click and drag the saved theme into your PSP's "Theme Settings" folder. Disconnect your PSP from the PC when you are done.
