Instructions

    • 1

Turn off your PSP and turn the unit over. Slide the battery door off the rear of the unit and remove the battery.

    • 2

Remove the four screws on the inside corners of the battery compartment, the two screws on the opposite side of the rear of the PSP and the single screw in the center of the bottom of the PSP.

    • 3

Use your fingers to pry the front faceplate off the unit.

    • 4

Locate the rectangular button bar just below the LCD screen and use the tip of your screwdriver to pop off the button bar in order to remove it. If the button bar is damaged beyond repair, you can fit a new one in the old one's place. If the problem isn't with the button bar proceed to the next step.

    • 5

Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop each of the four metal clips on the corners of the LCD screen up.

    • 6

Lift the LCD screen up from the top in order to expose the screen ribbon cable connected to the main board underneath.

    • 7

Check the ribbon connection to the port. If it isn't plugged in securely unplug it and plug it back in, making sure it is secure. If the screen is damaged beyond repair unplug the screen cable and remove the screen entirely.

    • 8

Fit a new screen in the old one's place, plug the cable into the board on the circuit board, and reverse the steps for reassembly.
