How to Put Movies on a PSP Using Bearshare MP3

Enjoying movies while traveling or waiting around can bring excitement to an otherwise boring process. While the Sony PSP is most commonly used as a portable gaming console, the handset also boasts a host of other multimedia capabilities, including digital video playback. BearShare is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing and media management interface from which you can save video clips onto your PSP for storage or playback purposes.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert a memory stick into your Sony PSP to expand its storage capacity if desired.

    • 2

Connect your PSP to the computer through a USB cable.

    • 3

Push the "Home" button on the PSP. Select "USB Connection" from the "Settings" menu. Doing so allows your computer to recognize the PSP as a connected device.

    • 4

Download and launch BearShare (see Resources). Select "Preferences" from the "Tools" menu.

    • 5

Select "Library and Downloads" from the navigation menu in the left column.

    • 6

Click the "Change" button in the "Save my BearShare downloads in" field.

    • 7

Select the PSP's directory from the ensuing browser. Doing so makes BearShare save your downloaded videos to the PSP. The PSP will have a drive letter associated with it, such as "E:" or "F:" depending on the port to which it is connected.

    • 8

Download the video of your choosing from the BearShare interface. The video will save to your PSP instead of your computer's hard drive. Repeat Steps 4 through 6 to return your download directory to a folder on your computer or another device.
