Place a bath towel on a table. Place the PlayStation Portable (PSP) face down on the towel with the battery compartment on the left side. Remove the battery compartment and pull the battery out. Place both aside.
Scratch the sticker inside the battery compartment with the tip of a flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver. Remove the screw from beneath the sticker and the screws inside the compartment with a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.
Remove the two screws on the right edge of the PSP with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Remove the screw on the left edge also.
Turn the PSP over and place it on the towel with the disc drive door farthest from you. Pull the analog pad off the surface of the PSP with your fingers and place it aside. Pull the faceplate off the PSP with your fingers and place it aside.
Insert the tip of the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver beneath the left side of the black bracket at the front edge of the PSP. Lift up on the tip to raise the bracket. Grip the bracket and pull it out of the PSP. Lay the bracket alongside the PSP so that the connecting wire remains unbroken.
Insert the tip flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver beneath the upper left side of the LCD panel at the center of the PSP. Lift up on the tip to release the clamp holding the panel. Repeat this procedure at the other three corners of the panel. Lift the panel off and place it alongside the PSP so that the connecting wire remains unbroken.
Remove the screws surrounding the module plate on the left side of the PSP with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Pull the module off. Remover the screws surrounding the circuit board beneath the module plate with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Remove the circuit board and place it alongside the PSP.
Remove the two screws holding the Wi-Fi sliding switch on the lower left corner of the PSP with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Pull the switch out. Blow off the switch with a burst of compressed air.
Spray both sides of the switch with electrical cleaner spray. Work the switch back and forth four times. Spray the switch again. Work the switch an additional four times.
Place the switch back into its original position in the PSP. Reattach the screws. Place the circuit board back on the PSP and reattach the screws. Place the module plate back on the PSP and reattach the screws. Place the LCD panel back on the PSP and press down to re-engage the clamps.
Place the black bracket back into the PSP. Place the faceplate and the analog pad back on the PSP. Reattach the screws on the PSP. Put the battery in the battery compartment and close the battery compartment lid.
