How to Restart Games on the PSP

PlayStation's PSP is a portable gaming system. Players hold the PSP with both hands, and buttons on the right and left side of the PSP manipulate the game play, which is displayed on the center screen. As with other electronic hardware, problems may arise that require you to reset the game and/or system. If the game suddenly becomes unresponsive to the controls or otherwise freezes, the first thing you should try to do is a "soft reset." Soft resets do not require completely powering down the system or removing the battery.

Instructions

  Press and hold the "L" button on the top of the PSP with your left pointer finger.

  Press and hold the "R" button on the top of the PSP with your right pointer finger. Both fingers should now be holding down the "L" and "R" buttons.

  Press the "Start" button with your right thumb. The game should reset if it was manufactured with a "soft reset" option.

  Press and hold the "Power" button to power down the PSP. If the game will not reset when the "L," "R," and "Start" buttons are held down, you must completely power down the PSP to reset it. If the game is still frozen and will not power down, remove the battery from the back of the PSP and restart the system.
