Things You'll Need
Instructions
Push the battery release button on the rear of the PSP and the PSP battery will pop out. Place this to the side. Remove any memory stick you may have in the PSP from the PSP card reader on the left side of the device.
Insert a Magic memory stick into the PSP with the device powered off. This memory stick has the necessary system files to install onto the PSP to get it working again.
Insert a Pandora battery into the PSP's stock battery bay and make sure it clicks into place. Slide the power button up to turn the PSP on. The screen will remain black and you will see white text.
Press the "X" button to reinstall the PSP software onto the device. When the process finishes, press the "X" button again to shut the PSP down. Remove the Pandora battery and Magic memory stick and reinsert the normal ones. You can now go about updating the system software, but make sure you have at least a 75-percent battery charge.
