Things You'll Need
Instructions
Extract any Universal Media Discs, or UMDs, and memory sticks from the PSP's respective compartments. Leaving a UMD or memory stick inside a disassembled PSP may damage both. Slide off the battery cover and withdraw the battery. Remove the components with care to avoid damage.
Unscrew the smaller screws securing the PSP's back cover. Three screws fasten the PSP's back cover on its right, while four fasten the cover underneath the battery cover. Loosen and remove the screws located on the right side and bottom of the PSP. Repeat with the screws at the left of the battery compartment. Leave the screws at the right of the battery untouched.
Remove the back cover and carefully place the PSP aside. Place the microfiber cloth underneath the PSP's screen for protection. Locate the LAN switch on the PSP's top or left side. Move the switch carefully into the "on" position. Reassemble the PSP once the switch shifts back into place.
Remove the outer LAN switch and faceplate if the switch remains off. Take off the screen and directional pads, holding them together. Locate three holes where the inner LAN switch sits on the motherboard and manipulate the inner switch carefully.
Reassemble your PSP and test your Wi-Fi connection. Consult a repair shop or replace your PSP if your LAN switch doesn't respond.
