Things You'll Need
Instructions
Download DSP Portal (see Resources). Version 2.2 is the latest as of December 2010. Unzip the contents of the "DSP Portal" download package into a folder on your desktop. Double-click on the "DSP Portal" extracted folder and rename the first folder displayed within it to "DSP."
Attach your PSP to the computer using a USB cable and turn on the PSP. Navigate through the XMB menu on the PSP to select "USB connection" and press "X."
Click on "My Computer" on your PC, and browse to your PSP, which will now appear as a drive on your system. Double-click on the folder "PSP" and then double-click on the folder "Common." Switch back to your desktop and open the "DSP Portal" extracted folder. Right-click on the "DSP" folder and select copy, then switch back to the "Common" folder and paste the entire "DSP" folder.
Hit the menu button on your PSP and open the Internet browser. Click to open a Web address, then type "file:psp/common/dsp_portal/index.html" and click "Open." Bookmark this page so you don't have to type in the address each time.
Click on "Games" in the DSP Portal page to access the list of games that come with the software. The original release included 22 games that are Flash-based (Shockwave), and each file has a corresponding .swf extension. The list includes "Mario Time Attack," "Battleship," "Garfield" and versions of chess, checkers and Windows classic "Minesweeper."
Add games to the system in the same way you added the "DSP Portal" software. Download games you wish to add (make sure they are .swf format) from your preferred host and extract them into a folder. Attach the PSP via USB cable and copy the games into the "Common\DSP\Games" folder, then relaunch your browser and choose your new games from the list.
