Purpose
The purpose of a broadband card is to allow the computer to connect to a mobile network when you do not have a router or home Internet connection. The broadband card is connected to the computer via a USB port.
Wireless
PSPs can connect to the Internet by locating a wireless hotspot or router. If neither is in range of the PSP, it cannot access any online content. The PSP cannot be connected through an Ethernet cable or broadband card.
Offline Use
The PSP console can connect directly to another PSP console using the console's "Ad Hoc" mode, which directly links PSP consoles in the same room.
