PSP-Compatible Camera

Sony PlayStation home video game consoles had the Eye Toy camera peripheral, but the Sony PlayStation Portable, or PSP, didn't get a camera add-on until 2006, the PSP Camera, which was released in different parts of the world at different dates.
  1. Release History

    • The camera originally came out as the "Chotto Shot" in Japan on November 2, 2006 and as the Go!Cam in Europe on May 16, 2007. North America did not receive a release of the peripheral until October 12, 2010 as the PSP Camera. However, the camera is incompatible with the PSPgo model.

    North American Release

    • In the North American version the PSP Camera comes packaged with the game "InviZimals" or in a package that includes a blue PSP-3000 model, "InviZimals," the PSP Camera, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" UMD movie, and a 1 GB memory stick.

    Use

    • Players can use the PSP Camera to capture and edit images and video depending on how big a memory stick the player is using. To manipulate their photos and videos, players can go online and download the "Go!Edit" software.

    With InviZimals

    • Gamers play InviZimals by attaching the camera accessory and pointing the camera all over their surroundings to locate and capture the game's 120 monsters. Once captured, players can share images of their monsters or use them to battle other players online.
