How to Beat the Boat Keeper in God of War: Chains of Olympus

"God of War: Chains of Olympus" is an action game in which players take on the role of Kratos, the god of war, as he rallies against the forces of other gods. One of the more confusing bosses in the game is Charon, the boat-keeper of Hades, because the first time you fight him, you must let him win. Worry not -- you will be able to defeat him the second time around.

Instructions

Charon: First Encounter
- 1
  Press the "L" button to reflect Charon's attacks back at him.

  Press the "Square" button multiple times to perform combo attacks on Charon until he is at 50 percent of his total health.

  Allow Charon to attack you with his instant kill move once he is at 50 percent health. You will not die, but you will be imprisoned.
Charon: Second Encounter

  Hold the "L" and "R" buttons down and move the control stick to the left or right to dodge Charon's "Wrath" attack, and then attack with the "Square" button until he strikes again. Eventually, he will move to the top of the boat.

  Avoid Charon's attacks by jumping in the air and attack him by pressing "Square" in the air. After he takes enough damage, he will shift positions once again.

  Use the "L" button to reflect all of Charon's attacks in his final form. Once you are prompted to press the "Circle" button, do so to perform the killing blow.
