Instructions
Equip a longsword, bowgun or dual swords from your in-game weapon menu. Press start to access the menu, navigate with the directional pad and press the "X" button to make your selection. You need to bring weapons that allow for maneuverability and quick attacks because Giadrome packs quite a punch. Purchase shock mines if you don't have any in your inventory, again using the directional pad and "X" button to navigate the shop menu.
Travel to Area 6, using the on-screen map as a guide. Hold down the "R" button while pushing forward on the directional pad to sprint for faster travel. Giadrome typically travels between Areas 6, 7 and 8, but tends to show up in Area 6 at the start of the battle.
Kill any Giapreys in Area 6 before attempting to take on Giadrome. Press the "Triangle" button to execute primary attacks with your weapon and the "Square" button to execute secondary attacks. Try to fight one Giaprey at a time and keep an eye open for their larger, meaner king.
Attack Giadrome directly when he appears. Dodge when necessary by pressing the "X" button while moving and make a few swipes when possible. Do not be greedy for hits, which will result only in a quickly draining health bar for your character.
Chase Giadrome into another area after he runs from the battle. He usually runs after losing 200 of his 300 hit points.
Sheath your weapon with a press of the "Square" button and then press it once more to place a shock mine on the ground. Lure him toward the shock mine, which holds Giadrome in place while you deal multiple free hits.
Attack Giadrome until his hit points reach zero. Liberal use of dodging and shock mines make for a much easier fight.
