How to Connect Two PSPs

The Playstation Portable (PSP) is a portable gaming device that allows you to connect with other PSPs in the near vicinity. This is referred to as Ad Hoc, and is what the PSP uses for local wireless gaming. Ad Hoc does not require Internet or any additional hardware. To connect two PSPs, both PSPs must enable Ad Hoc, have the same game inserted/installed and be broadcasting on the same channel.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the PSP. Scroll to the "Settings" menu. Select "Network Settings."

    • 2

      Select "Ad Hoc Mode."

    • 3

Select "Automatic" to have the PSP choose the most optimal channel for communication. You'll have the option of disregarding the automatic feature and manually selecting a channel. Press the "X" button to save the settings. Use these instructions and have the other PSP do the same. To play a game in Ad Hoc mode, you'll need to refer to the game's documentation on how to start a game locally.
