How to Connect a PSP to the Internet Via a Laptop

The Sony PlayStation Portable is a handheld video game device that can connect to the Internet via a Wi-Fi hotspot. If you do not own a wireless router, you may simply use your laptop to create a hotspot and connect your PSP to it. When connected to the Internet, your PSP can download games, play online games and browse the web using the PSP's Internet browser.

      Download and install Connectify and open the program. Select the Internet connection you wish to share in the "Internet" field. Select "Local Area Connection."

      Change the name of your Wi-Fi hotspot in the "Wifi Name" field. Erase the password in the "Password" field. This will make it easier to connect. Click "Start Hotspot Sharing" and the hotspot will be turned on.

      Select "Network Settings" from the PSP main menu and select "New Connection." Select "Infrastructure Mode" and "Scan." The PSP will look for an available hotspot. Select the Connectify hotspot with the name you specified in Step 2.

      Select "Easy" for the Internet settings and press the "X" button to test the connection. Your PSP is now connected to the Internet via your laptop.
