How to Make a Soft-Mod Pandora Battery

The Pandora battery software modification makes it possible to install custom firmware onto the Sony PlayStation Portable video game console and then take advantage of the homebrew software modder community. You can then use the modded PSP to create backups of your favorite games and install applications onto the hand-held device that aren't available through Sony Entertainment. Be aware that modifying your PSP will void any warranties that you might have for the device through Sony.

Things You'll Need

Pandora software installer
PSP USB attachment
PSP memory stick

Instructions

  Insert a memory stick into the PSP.

  Turn on the PSP.

  Connect the PSP to your personal computer via the PSP USB attachment.

  Navigate through the PSP's main menu to "Settings" and then select "USB Mode."

  Access your computer. Download the "Pandora Installer" for the PSP (see Resources) and save the file to the PSP's "GAME" folder in the memory stick.

  Press the "Circle" button to eject the PSP from "USB Mode" and remove it from your computer.

  Open the "Pandora Installer" software from your PSP's "Game" section.

  Open the "Battery Options" and then choose "Make Pandora Battery" to soft-mod your PSP's current battery into a Pandora battery.

  Exit the program to complete the mod.
