How to Troubleshoot an Analog PSP

The PSP is a great way to pass time while traveling, standing in line, or anytime you have to wait. Because of this, it tends to see a lot of use, which means certain PSP components can begin to break down. The PSP analog stick may become unusable over time. This could be due to dirt, debris, rough handling, or any other cause. There are a few troubleshooting tips to consider before sending your PSP in for repair.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the AC adapter from the wall and remove the battery pack from the PSP. Store the battery pack in a cool, dry environment that is out of direct sunlight and away from the reach of children.

    • 2

Dip the soft bristle toothbrush in the warm water and use your finger to remove excess water until the toothbrush is no longer dripping. Use the toothbrush to clean around the analog stick and in the cracks between the analog stick and the rest of the PSP.

    • 3

Leave the PSP to dry completely. Once it is dry, plug the battery pack in. Plug the AC adapter back into the wall socket.

    • 4

If you still experience problems, go to "Settings," then "System Settings." When the "System Information" screen displays, rotate your PSP analog stick.
