Instructions
Unscrew the six screws on the PSP case. There are two located in the upper battery compartment, two on the back of the PSP, one under the upper left corner of the "Warranty void" sticker (also in the battery compartment), and one on the bottom of the PSP in the center.
Remove the faceplate, starting from the bottom and slowly pulling it up. It should come off relatively easily. Do not remove the "L" and "R" buttons at the top of the PSP.
Position the PSP so the screen is facing you and the "L/R" buttons are at the top. Slide the flat-head screwdriver under the lower left-hand corner of the metal plate containing the menu buttons and pop it off gently. Avoid disconnecting the wire ribbon that is attached to the right side of the plate.
Use the flat-head screwdriver to push the old screen up and out from its position in the upper left and lower left corners. Remove the screen slowly to avoid damaging the wire ribbons connecting the screen to the motherboard.
Disconnect the two ribbons that connect the screen to the PSP's motherboard. Pop the black connector on the larger ribbon up and away from you and slide the ribbon out. Grab the black snap of the smaller ribbon with your fingernail and pull it up and toward you, and slide this ribbon out.
Remove the film protecting the screen but not the sticker underneath; do not to scratch or leave fingerprints on the screen. Slide the ribbons from the PSP into the new screen in the same manner they were removed from the old screen. Push them in completely.
Position the new screen, fully connected, in the encasement. Slide the screen into place, starting with the right side and then the left side. Snap the menu plate back into position.
Place the faceplate back into position and screw in the screws that you removed. The long silver screw goes in the bottom center of the PSP, the shorter silver screw goes next to the black one in the battery compartment and the black screws are interchangeable.
