Insert the slotted end of the memory stick card into the slot on the memory stick card reader. Plug the USB cable of the memory stick card reader into a USB port on a PC.
Download a PSP modification file package to the desktop. Try, for example, the "Pandora files" modification file package created by a PSP enthusiast. Double-click the file to decompress it to a folder on the desktop.
Right-click on the icon of the memory stick that is on the desktop. Select "Properties" from the pop-up menu. Click on the "Tools" tab at the top of the window that appears. Select the "Format" tab in the window. Uncheck the "Quick format" check box. Click the "Start" button at the bottom of the window. After the progress bar fills in completely, close the window by clicking the red "X" in the upper right corner.
Double-click on the PSP modification file package's folder on the desktop to open its window. Click inside the window. Press "Cntrl+A" to highlight all the files. Drag all the files onto the icon of the memory stick card on the desktop. Wait as a progress bar appears, fills in from right to left and disappears.
Right-click on the icon of the memory stick card. Select "Eject" from the pop-up menu. Remove the memory stick card reader from the USB port of the PC. Remove the memory stick card from the memory stick card reader.
Insert the memory stick card into the memory slot on the side of the PSP. Turn the PSP face down. Open the battery compartment by removing the compartment lid. Remove the battery. Place the Pandora battery into the battery compartment and close the lid.
Push up on the power button at the lower right corner of the PSP for a second. Press the "X" button when a menu appears on the screen. Follow the menu commands on the next screen and subsequent screens to unblock the PSP and restore the modification.
Turn off the PSP when the modification is complete. Remove the memory stick card from the PSP. Remove the Pandora battery from the PSP and replace it with the original battery.
