How to Put DOS Games on a PSP

The Sony PSP, besides being able to run UMD-based games and downloaded software from Sony's PlayStation Network, can run a range of amateur-developed games and software from the Internet. One such piece of software allows the console to be used as an emulator for MS-DOS games, allowing vintage PC titles to be run on the portable machine. This opens the console up to a wide variety of older games, many of them freely available.

  Download DOSBox Easy Navigator from the site in Resources and double-click the downloaded file to unzip.

  Connect your PSP to the USB port of your computer using the console's USB lead. Turn the console on and scroll to "System." Choose "USB Connect."

  Open the unzipped file and copy all files and folders from the "Game150" directory into the "Game" folder of your PSP. Place the "DOSBox" directory on the root directory of your PSP and place DOS games into the "Game" subfolder of this directory.

  Disconnect your PSP from your computer and reset the console. Launch DOSBox Easy Navigator from the "Game" folder of your PSP. Choose the game you wish to play by navigating to it in the DOSBox Easy Navigator startup menu then pressing "X."
