How to Watch Videos on a PSP 2001

Though marketed as a portable video gaming device, Sony's PSP can also play movies and music. With the PSP's memory stick, you can watch movies off of the player's memory card or from a UMD disc. Properly load the videos on your PSP 2001, also known as the PSP Slim, and watch them wherever you go.

Instructions

      Place the UMD into your PSP's UMD drive, then turn on the unit by sliding the power switch on the right side of the device upward.

      Push the directional pad on the PSP to the right and stop once the "Video" menu is highlighted. You can access files on your UMD or saved to the PSP's memory stick from this menu.

      Push down on the directional pad and stop once the "UMD" option is highlighted.

      Press the PSP's "X" button to open the UMD and begin playing the movie.

      Push down on the directional pad and stop on the "Memory Stick Duo" option. Press "X," once, then highlight a video file and press "X" again to play a movie that is saved to your PSP's memory stick.
