How to Fix a Faulty Analog Stick on a PSP

Every gamer fears the day their game system may become faulty or need repair. One of the most common symptoms for a broken PSP is a faulty analog stick. Before sending your system in for lengthy repairs, keep in mind that you can fix your PSP's faulty analog stick in just a few minutes.

  • PSP Analog Stick Assembly replacement
  • Philips No. 0 precision screwdriver

Instructions

    • 1

      Unscrew the five screws on the back of your PSP using your Philips No. 0 precision screwdriver. These screws are located around the outer edges of your PSP. Place these screws off to the side.

      Turn your PSP over and gently remove the faceplate. The analog stick assembly will be located in the lower left corner of the faceplate.

      Unscrew the two screws holding the analog stick assembly. Place these two screws off to the side. The assembly should easily come out of the faceplate.

      Screw in the new analog stick assembly using the two screws removed earlier, and place the faceplate back on the PSP. Screw the faceplate back into the PSP using the five screws removed earlier.
