How to Reset a PSP 2000

The PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a handheld gaming device. In addition to its gaming capabilities, the PSP also supports audio and video playback, photo viewing and web browsing. The PSP 2000 lacks the storage capacity of later PSP models and relies on Memory Stick Duo memory cards to store most of its data. Sometimes, the PSP will freeze without warning. You can remedy this by resetting it. Resetting the PSP will cause you to lose any unsaved progress if you're in the middle of a game.

Instructions

     Hold the power switch in the up position (as if you were turning the PSP on) for approximately 10 seconds. The PSP screen will shut off.

     Move the power switch up and down one or two times, leaving it in the on position.

   • 3

     Wait until the screen comes back on.
