PSP: How Do You Use Its Internet Connection for Google?

The PlayStation Portable (PSP) was released with functionality allowing the user to access the Internet wherever a wireless access point is available to connect to. PSP Internet includes all basic websites, such as Google, Yahoo and the likes, as well as most other sites across the Internet, excluding flash-based sites such as YouTube. However, connecting can be difficult, due to the various steps needed to establish a strong Internet connection.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Home" button on your PSP to reach the main screen. Find the settings tab, scroll down until you reach "Network Settings" and click it.

    • 2

Choose "Infrastructure Mode" and select "New Connection." Name your connection as a means to identify your location.

    • 3

Select "Scan" and wait for your PSP to locate possible access points. If any are in the area, your PSP should detect them and allow you the choice to connect. Unless you are attempting to connect to an access point you pay for, select any that have the "Security" labeled as "None." If you are connecting to your own wireless, skip Step 4 and read on to Step 5.

Continue onto the next page, clicking through until you reach the confirmation page. Save your settings by pressing "X" and you should have access to the PSP browser.

    • 5

If you are connecting to your own wireless, select your own connection. Click through to the "WLAN Security Settings" page and select the type of security you have.

    • 6

Enter your security key, usually found on the back of your router. Save your settings by pressing "X."
