How to Reset the PSP Internet Password

Since the release of the Sony PlayStation (PSP) in March 2005, it has quickly become one of the most popular hand-held gaming consoles of all time, according to the Time website. Among the PSP's many features is password support. However, with this feature comes the problem of lost passwords. Luckily there is a simple solution.

Instructions

    • 1

      Slide the PSP power switch into the "power" position. The LED should appear green.

      Navigate through the XMB (Cross Media Bar) until you reach the "Settings" tab.

      Scroll down to "System Settings" and press the "X" button.

      Scroll down to "Restore Default Settings" and press the "X" button. The system will now reset.

      Follow the onscreen instructions to set the language, time zone, date and nickname.

      Navigate through the XMB until you reach the "Settings" tab.

      Scroll down to the "Security Settings" tab and press the "X" button.

      Select "Change Password." The default system password is "0000." When prompted, enter "0000" and press "X." Now enter your own password.
