What Is a PSP Composite Video Cable?

Many people would rather watch videos on a large TV instead of the 4.3-inch screen of a PlayStation Portable. A composite cable connects your PSP to your television set, allowing you to view PlayStation videos, music and photos. The composite AV cable will also display games on your TV, if you have the PSP-3001 model.

Cable Use
- The PSP composite AV cable has two ends. The end with the single input plugs into the PlayStation, while the end with the red, yellow and white inputs plugs into the TV.
Compatibility with PSP
- You can't use a PSP composite cable with the PSP-1001 model or the PSPgo, nor can you use composite AV cables made for the PSPgo with any other PlayStation model.
Compatibility with TV
- The PSP composite cable will work with any TV that has AV inputs. Most TVs have color-coded inputs, so you can match the color of the plugs to the inputs. The PSP will not conflict with other media hooked up to the TV. For an interlaced TV--where the resolution ends in an "I," not "P"--you need to change the settings on the PSP through the settings menu. Once there, you select "Connected Display Settings," then "Component/D-Terminal Output," before selecting "Interlace."
