Place the PlayStation Portable (PSP) next to the PlayStation 3 (PS3). Select "Settings" from the PSP's Home menu. Scroll down to "Bluetooth Device Settings." Select the "Bluetooth Device Settings." Select "Yes" from the on-screen menu. Press "X" on the PSP. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Select the "OK" button. Press "X" on the PSP.
Turn on the PS3. Plug one end of the PS3 extender cable into one of the PS3's USB ports that are on the front of the console. Plug the other end of the PS3 extender cable into the large end of the PSP USB cable. Plug the free end of the PSP USB cable into the USB port on the PSP.
Plug the connector cable attached to the PS3 game controller into a USB port on the PS3.
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen that has now appeared the PSP. A "Please wait..." text line will appear on the screen. Wait until the text line disappears.
Remove the PSP Go USB cable from the USB port on the PSP. Remove the PS3 extender cable from the USB port on the PS3.
Press the "PS" button at the center of the PS3 game controller. Press the "X" button on the PSP. The PS3 game controller is now connected to the D-Pad and can be used to duplicate all of its functions.
