How to Fix Damaged Buttons on a PSP

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) uses a simple button layout. However, like every device, things wear down and break. Sony has actually made it very simple to fix broken buttons on its portable gaming device. By only removing a few screws, you can switch out the PSP's broken buttons with properly working ones.

Instructions

      Remove the battery from the rear of the PSP. Remove the four screws underneath the battery and the two on the opposite end. Remove the last screw on the bottom edge of the PSP.

      Firmly grasp the front of the PSP and lift the faceplate off. This will reveal the PSP buttons on the inside of the faceplate. Remove the PSP buttons by simply pulling them off.

      Snap the new PSP buttons into place where you just removed the older, broken ones. Make sure they are secured and place the faceplate back onto the PSP.

      Place the seven screws into place and tighten them. Reinsert the PSP battery.
