How do I Repair a Deleted VSH From Flash0 in PSP?

The Visual Shell Menu (VSH) allows you to change certain settings on the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) without needing to reboot the device into a recovery menu. Sometimes the VSH menu will be deleted. This problem usually is due to a corrupt flash0 memory module, which prevents your PSP from booting up. The only way to fix this problem, and restore both the VSH menu and flash0 memory, is to completely reinstall your PSP firmware. This process is accomplished through the use of a magic memory stick and Pandora battery.

Magic memory stick
Pandora battery

Instructions

  Remove the battery and memory stick from the Sony PSP and place them aside. Insert the magic memory stick and Pandora battery into the PSP. The PSP will turn on and enter service mode.

  Select the "Install Custom Firmware" option by pressing the "X" button on the PSP. This process will reflash the "Flash0" memory, which allows you to boot back into the PSP. Press the "X" button again to verify the selection.

  Press the "X" button on the PSP when the install completes to shut down the PSP. Remove the Pandora battery and magic memory stick. Reinsert the normal battery and memory stick into the PSP.

  Turn the PSP back on. The PSP will boot into the XrossMediaBar PSP operating system.
