How to Put a RAR File Game in a PSP

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a portable video game device that was released in 2005. It touts a optical disc drive on the rear and memory stick slot on the side. Both of these can house games. Some games, such as homebrew games, come in the RAR format. These are archive files that need to be extracted and placed onto the PSP memory stick.

      Download and install one of the archive programs from the Resources section. All of them work roughly the same way. You have the choice between WinRAR, 7-Zip and RarZilla.

      Locate the RAR file that you had previously downloaded to your computer. Right-click it and click "Extract Here" or "Extract" to extract the contents of the game into the same folder as the RAR file. Right-click the new folder that was created after during the extraction and click "Copy."

      Connect your PSP to your computer with the USB cable and select "USB Connection" from the PSP main menu. A window will appear, and you will see the files and folders on the PSP memory stick. Open the "PSP" folder on the PSP memory stick.

      Right-click the "GAME" folder and click "Paste" to transfer the game onto the PSP memory stick. Disconnect the PSP from the computer after the transfer completes.
