Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the memory stick from the PSP or PSPgo and insert it into your PSP. For PCs without compatible media readers for the Memory Stick Pro Duo and Memory Stick Micro, adapters are available from retailers; these adapters will allow the stick to be connected using the PC's USB port. Note that the PSPgo features a built-in hard drive, requiring a USB connection using the device's included USB power cable to transfer files. Therefore, in order to transfer files to the PSPgo without a USB cable, you must use a Memory Stick Micro M2 to transfer files to the system.
Click on the Memory Stick on your computer. For Windows operating systems, the PSP folder will appear under the "My Computer," and will vary in actual drive destination based on the configuration for your computer and will be titled based on the brand of stick you are using. Double-click on the folder named "MUSIC" on the Memory Stick to open it for access. Leave it open.
Click and drag the files on your computer that you wish to save to the PSP into the MUSIC folder on the Memory Stick. Typically, music and audio files are stored in the "My Music" folder of your PC library, but may be stored elsewhere based on your computer. Note that any files you wish to transfer to the Memory Stick must be MP3 format.
Close the Memory Stick's window and safely remove the memory device using the method provided by your PC. Insert the Memory Stick back into your PSP or PSPgo. The music copied to the Memory Stick will be immediately accessible through the "Music" folder on the PSP main menu, as files transferred do not require further installation on the PSP device.
