How to Take Apart a PSP Battery

Taking apart a PSP Battery is useful when you need to replace its internal components. You can also modify the battery to make the PSP go into service mode when the battery is inserted into the PSP. This modification is called the Pandora mod. Whatever the need, taking apart the PSP battery is actually quite simple, but it is a delicate process.

Things You'll Need

Plastic paint scraper/box cutter

  Remove the battery from your PSP and place the PSP aside. Hold the PSP battery firmly with the PSP logo facing you.

  Locate the seem on the battery that goes all the way around the outside. Use your sharp plastic tool or box cutter to score the seem. Continue scoring the seem around the PSP with either tool. Do not insert the tool into the PSP.

  Pull the PSP front cover from its back when the seem has been scored enough that you can insert your fingernail into it. The PSP battery is now taken apart and you can reach all of its internal components.
