How to Copy an ISO File to a PSP

ISO files are virtual disk images of larger files and folders that preserve the original contents unchanged. Because your Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) features an internal memory stick, you may use the device as a storage disk for ISO files if you are short on hard drive space. While you may not use the ISO file as you would on your personal computer, the storage may be helpful if you need to transport or preserve the file. Connect the PSP to your computer with a mini USB-to-USB cable to get started.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the PSP to your personal computer. Insert the mini USB end of a mini USB-to-USB cable into the mini USB port on top of the PSP. Insert the USB end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer.

    • 2

Select "USB Connection" from the PSP&'s "Settings" menu to allow your computer and PSP to recognize each other when connected.

    • 3

Double-click the PSP&'s device icon from your computer&'s desktop or file manager, such as Windows Explorer or Finder. Double-click the folder marked "Portable Storage Device," which is the memory stick&'s root folder.

    • 4

Create a new folder for the ISO file to avoid storing it in the memory stick root folder. Alternatively, you may copy the ISO file to an existing folder instead of creating a new one.

    • 5

Open the folder containing your ISO file in a new file manager window.

    • 6

Drag and drop the ISO file from its file manager window into the desired folder on your PSP&'s memory stick.
