How to Clean up Deleted Files on a PSP Memory Stick

When you delete files on your Sony PSP memory stick, the files are not truly deleted. The data still exist on the memory stick; they have just been reallocated so that you can no longer access them. If you want to truly clean up all of the files you&'ve deleted from your PSP, you&'ll have to format the memory stick. You can do this by connecting your Sony PSP to your computer.

      Connect your Sony PSP to your computer using the USB data transfer cable that came with your unit. You can plug this USB data transfer cable into any USB port on your computer.

      Turn on your Sony PSP. Select "Settings" from the menu. Select "USB Connection." Enabling this will allow your Windows operating system to recognize your attached Sony PSP.

      Turn on your computer. Click the "Start" button.

      Click "Computer."

      Right-click on your Sony PSP&'s icon in "Computer." This icon represents your memory stick and not the unit&'s own internal storage. Click "Format." Click "Start" to format your Sony PSP&'s memory stick, which will clean up all of the deleted files from the device.
