How to Open a PSP Memory Card Slot

The Sony PlayStation portable uses memory cards to supplement its existing memory capacity. If you have media files you'd like to save for later use, new levels or content for games that you've downloaded from the PlayStation Network or any other type of content you need to save, you can store it for however long you'd like on a memory card. To insert a memory card, you first need to open the memory card slot.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the Sony PlayStation Portable memory card slot. This slot is located on the left side of the system's case. It is protected by a tiny removable cover.

    • 2

Use your finger to pull off the cover that protects the Sony PSP's memory card slot. This will reveal the entire slot as well as any memory card that is currently inserted. You can push down on a memory card that is already inserted to eject it, or push a new card into the slot to properly insert it.

    • 3

Replace the cover to the PSP's memory card slot. Doing so will not only protect the memory card itself, but also protect the slot from getting dirty or dusty, which will cause problems with the device.
