How to Install a Memory Stick on a PSP

The Sony PlayStation hand-held features video, audio and game-related functionality for gamers interested in portable multimedia. In order to take advantage of many media-functionality options, the PSP requires the use of a Memory Stick for storage. You can insert a Memory Stick into a PSP and format it easily, allowing storage for game downloads, videos and audio files.

The PSP 1000-3000 models support the Memory Stick Pro Duo format for internal storage, available in sizes up to 16 GB as of 2010. The 2009 PSPgo model introduced a 16-GB internal hard drive for memory, but is also compatible with the Memory Stick Micro M2 format for memory expansion.
