How to Transfer Music From PS3 to PSP

The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable are designed to share content with each other. You can transfer movies, games, pictures and music between these two machines with the right setup.

Things You'll Need

  • Television
  • PlayStation 3
  • Music playlist on your PS3
  • PlayStation Portable in USB mode
  • USB-to-Mini-USB cable

Instructions

      A USB-to-Mini-USB cable is packaged with your PS3.

      Connect your PS3 and PSP with the USB-to-Mini-USB cable. The larger USB head plugs into the PS3; the smaller head plugs into the PSP.

      On your PSP, go to the "Settings" column and select "USB Connection." It now shows up on your PS3 menus as a USB device.

      Navigate to the "Music" column of your PS3&'s main menu and highlight the playlist you want to copy.

      Press the "Triangle" button and select "Copy" from the menu that comes up on the right side of the screen.

      Select your PSP from the list of USB devices to begin transferring the data. In most cases, your PSP will be the only entry on the list.
