Turn the PSP system on. From the XMB bar (the menu that loads up when you first turn the system on), scroll to the far left to access the Settings menu. Scroll down and press the "X" button to select "Network Settings." The "X" button is used to select all items on the XMB bar.
Select "Infrastructure Mode." Select "New Connection." The WLAN Settings menu will open. Select "Scan" to begin scanning for wireless networks. After a few seconds, you will be presented with a list of available wireless networks. Select the name of the wireless network to which you want to connect.
Enter a name for the network on the PSP. Select the type of security that the wireless network uses. If there is none, select "None." Enter the security key for the network. If there is none, leave it blank and press the "Right" button on the directional pad to continue.
Select "Easy." When presented with the network name, press the "Right" button on the directional pad to continue (it will be left as the name you entered earlier). A list of the settings you entered will be displayed. Verify that all of the information is correct, and press the "Right" button on the directional pad to continue. Press the "X" button to save the settings.
Select "Test Connection." If the connection is successful, information about the network connection will be displayed. If the test is not successful, why it failed and the most likely solution will be presented on the screen.
