How to Install 3.71M33 on a Magic Memory Stick

A PSP Magic Memory Stick allows provides PSP users with an easy method of upgrading their handhelds to utilize custom firmwares. The memory stick also protects the PSP from hardware failure that it would otherwise be susceptible to by standard custom firmware installation. The Magic Memory stick supports any custom firmware and only requires the files be placed on the root drive of the PSP memory stick.

Instructions

  Plug in your Magic Memory Stick into your PSP, then power the device on.

  Plug in your PSP USB cable into the PSP, then into a USB connection on your PC.

  Click "Open" on the "Removable Disc" prompt on your PC.

  Open up your Internet browser on your PC.

  Download the 3.71m33 firmware(see Resources).

  Open the "3.71m33.zip" file you just downloaded.

  Drag and drop the "3.71m33" folder to the root directory of your PSP memory stick, which was the "removable disc" drive that you previously opened.

  Disconnect the PSP from your PC.

  Shut down the PSP.

  Power on the PSP while holding the "right shoulder" button. Your PSP will now boot to the Magic Memory Stick firmware update menu.

  Press the "X" button on the "Install 3.71m33" menu option.

  Press the "O" button to begin the 3.71m33 installation. Your PSP will restart when the installation is finished and now will have the 3.71m33 custom firmware.
