How to Install Windows XP to a PSP

If you&'ve seen other PSP owners who seem to have Microsoft Windows XP installed on their devices you might want it yourself. While your PSP can look like it&'s running Windows XP, the operating system itself cannot be installed. While you can&'t install the operating system you can make your PSP look like it has it installed. You can install a portal, or theme, that looks and acts just like Windows XP. The portal that makes your PSP look like Windows XP is "pspWxp."

Instructions

    • 1

Download pspWxp from the official website (see Resources).

    • 2

Right click the pspWxp file and click "Extract All." Double click the "pspWxp" folder to open it. Connect your PSP via USB cable to the computer.

    • 3

Double click "install.exe" in the pspXwp folder. Once the installation has finished, unplug your PSP from the computer.

    • 4

Open the Internet browser on your PSP. Enter "file:/pspWxp/index.htm" into the address bar and click "Enter."

    • 5

Press the triangle to hide the PSP toolbars (and press it again to show them). You will now have the Windows XP portal running on your PSP.
