Turn off your PSP and slide the back battery cover off the device. Lift the battery out of its compartment and set it aside.
Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws inside the battery compartment, the two screws on the opposite side of the back of the PSP, and the single screw located on the bottom of the unit.
Separate the front plastic faceplate from the PSP by gently prying it off at the corners of the unit.
Locate the rectangular button bar on the bottom of the LCD screen. Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop it up. Use your fingers to completely remove it and set it aside.
Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop up the four metal tabs on each corner of the LCD screen.
Lift up the LCD screen and unplug the orange ribbon cable from the back of the screen. Set the screen aside.
Use your screwdriver to remove the nine screws from the metal plate that cover the green circuit board. Remove the board and set it aside.
Remove all screws holding the green motherboard in place and gently remove it. The memory card slot will now be visible in the bottom of the unit.
Locate the hinge on the side of the memory slot. Use the tip of your screwdriver to gently pop it out. Slide the memory card slot out of the unit.
Replace the memory slot with a new one (available from your PSP retailer or online). Reassemble the PSP in the reverse order you took it apart.
