How to Watch YouTube Videos Directly on a PSP

The Sony PSP handheld console isn&'t just for video games. With the bundled Internet browser and integrated Wi-Fi, you can use it as a mobile portal to the Internet. But the PSP does not support Flash 8, which is required to view some content on the Internet, such as YouTube. But there is a way to view these videos without extra hardware, or having to modify your PSP.

If you are unsure how to use the Cross Media Bar (XMB), please consult the PSP owner&'s manual.

Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP)
Memory Stick
Internet connection

Instructions

  Open the PSP&'s Internet browser.
  
  It can be found under the Network column on the XMB.

  In the Address Bar, enter m.youtube.com

  Find a video you want to watch.

  Place the cursor over the video and press "Triangle" to bring up a menu.

  Select "Address" from the menu.

  Press "Start" when the keypad comes up. The web page will reload.

  Go to keepvid.com.

  Select the box labeled "URL." The keypad will come up again.

  Press "Select" three times. This will cause the "Space" keypad button to change to the "History" button.

  Select the "History" button, and click the saved address of the YouTube video you wish to watch on your PSP. This will enter the address in the text box. Press "Enter" to continue, and return to the web page.

  Click the "Download" button to the right of the URL box.

  Click the "High Quality MP4" link, and select "Save Link Target" from the menu that pops up.

  Select "Save" from the menu.
  
  The video should automatically download to the /VIDEO/ folder on the PSP&'s memory stick.

  Exit the web browser and go to the Video column of the XMB.

  Select the memory stick.
  
  The video file you saved should be visible there.

  Select the video you just saved. It should play normally.
