Place a soft cloth on a table. Place the PSP face down on the soft cloth with the memory card slot facing to the right. Remove the memory card from the memory card slot.
Remove the battery compartment lid from the left side of the PSP with your fingers. Pull the PSP battery out of the battery compartment with your fingers.
Scratch off the sticker inside of the battery compartment with the tip of the Phillips jeweler’s screwdriver. Remove the screw that was hidden underneath the sticker with the Phillips jeweler’s screwdriver. Remove the three other screws inside of the battery compartment with the Phillips jeweler’s screwdriver.
Remove the screw from the bottom middle edge of the PSP with the Phillips jeweler’s screwdriver. Remove the two screws from the right side of the PSP next to the memory card slot with the Phillips jeweler’s screwdriver.
Turn the PSP over so that the disc drive door is facing away from you. Pull the faceplate off the PSP with your fingers.
Grab hold of the left end of the black metal bracket that is at the bottom edge of the PSP with the tweezers. Lift up on the tweezers to raise the left end of the black metal bracket. Repeat this procedure on the right end of the black metal bracket.
Grab hold of the right end of the black metal bracket with your fingers. Pull the black metal bracket out of the PSP, taking care not to disconnect the cable coming from it that is attached to the PSP’s circuit board.
Place the black metal bracket on the top of the LCD screen. Locate the loose connection plug of the headphone’s connector that is in the lower right edge of the PSP previously covered by the right end of the black metal bracket. Grab hold of the connection plug with the tweezers.
Orient the connection plug so that it lines up with the pins on the connector on the circuit board at the lower right edge of the PSP. Push the connection plug into the connector on the circuit board.
Place the black metal bracket back into its original position inside the bottom edge of the PSP. Place the faceplate back onto the PSP. Turn the PSP over.
Reattach the screws. Place the battery back into the battery compartment. Place the battery compartment lid back onto the left side of the PSP. Insert the memory card back into the memory card slot.
