How to Fix a Corrupt PSP Memory Stick

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) uses a Memory Stick Pro Duo as its form of memory. You can save your game data, music, movies and other information to the memory stick. Sometimes the stick becomes corrupted, often because of improper ejecting from your computer. To fix this problem, you need to format the memory stick.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Sony PSP and wait for the PSP main menu to appear.

    • 2

Navigate through the PSP menu and select the "System Settings" link located all the way to right on the PSP main menu.

    • 3

Select "Format Memory Stick" from the menu that appears. Select "Yes" when you are asked if you really want to format the memory stick. When the process completes, the PSP memory stick will be in working order.
