Convert Videos Using a Video Conversion Website
Highlight the web address of the video you want to put on the PSP in the URL address bar of the Web browser. Press 'Command+C" on a Mac, or "Ctrl+C" on a PC, to copy the web address of the video to the computer's clipboard.
Click within the "URL address" field on the video conversion website, for example, the Media Converter video conversion website (see the link in Resources). Press "Command+V" on a Mac or "Ctrl+V" on a PC to paste the video's web address into the field.
Select "MP4" or "MP4-PSP" from the 'File Format" drop-down menu. Press the "Continue" button to go to a new window.
Click the "Browse" button next to the "Output" or "Save To" text column. Navigate to the window that appears in the desktop. Name the PSP-compatible video you are going to make in the "Name" column at the top of the window.
Press the "Save" button at the bottom of the window. The PSP-compatible video format is now saved to the desktop.
Insert the memory card into the slot of the memory card reader. Plug the USB cable of the memory card reader into a USB port on the computer. Wait for the icon of the memory card to appear on the desktop.
Double-click on the icon of the memory card to open its window. Drag the PSP-compatible video file into the "Games" folder inside of the PSP memory card icon's window. Right-click on the icon of the PSP memory card once the PSP-compatible video file has been copied.
Select "Eject" from the pop-up menu. Disconnect the memory card from the memory card reader and the memory card reader's USB cable from the USB port of the computer.
Insert the memory card into the PSP's memory card slot on the side of the PSP. Turn on the PSP. Navigate to the "Video" icon from the Home menu. Select the memory card's icon from beneath the "Video" icon. Select the PSP-compatible video file from the list of choices presented to the right of the memory card icon. Press the "X" button on the PSP to watch the video.
Convert Videos Using Video Format Conversion Program
Download and install a video format conversion program to the desktop of the computer; for example, the free PSP Video 9 program or the free WinAVI program (see links in Resources). Restart the PC after the installation is done. Double-click on the icon of the conversion program to launch it.
Click the "Add File" button on the video format conversion program's main screen. Navigate to the desktop of the computer in the window that appears. Using the mouse, highlight the video file that is to be turned into a PSP-compatible video file. Click the "Open" button to close the window.
Select "MP4" or "MP4-PSP" from the "File Format" drop-down menu on the video format conversion program's main screen. Navigate to the desktop on the window that appears. Click the "Browse" button next to the "Output File" tab. Name the PSP-compatible video file that is about to be made in the "Name" column at the top of the window that appears.
Click the "Save" button to save the PSP-compatible video file to the desktop.
Insert the memory card into the slot of the memory card reader. Plug the USB cable of the memory card reader into a USB port on the computer. Wait for the icon of the memory card to appear on the desktop.
Double-click on the icon of the memory card to open its window. Drag the PSP-compatible video file into the "Games" folder inside of the PSP memory card icon's window.
