How to Fix a PSP 2001 Screen

The playability of the 2001 model of the Playstation Portable (PSP) can be defeated if dirt or other substances get into the single connection between the LCD screen and the PSP's motherboard. Cleaning the PSP's LCD screen connector cable and the connection on the motherboard requires opening the PSP, which voids any Sony warranty that might still be in place. You will need a few common household tools and some supplies from your medicine cabinet but no special skill with electronic circuitry.
