How to Make an Account for the PlayStation Network on a PSP

Sony's PSP is compatible with the PlayStation Network. By connecting to the PlayStation Network, you can play online games with other PSP users, as well as purchase and download new games for your PSP. Before you begin using the PlayStation Network, you'll need to create an account. Creating an account is free and only takes about 10 minutes. If you already have a PlayStation Network account from another system, such as a PS2 or PS3, it is not necessary to create a new account; you can simply sign in using your username and password.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the PlayStation Network icon from the menu screen. This icon looks like a globe with the PlayStation button icons (triangle, square, circle, etc.) surrounding it.

    • 2

Select "Sign up for PlayStation Network." You will be redirected to a signup screen.

    • 3

Enter your date of birth, full name and mailing address. Enter your e-mail address and create a password that is at least six digits and a combination of letters and numbers.

    • 4

Choose a security question from the list, and then provide an answer for the question. This question is used in the password-recovery process, in case you forget your password.

    • 5

Select a PlayStation Network ID. This is the username associated with your public profile. Once you select an ID, you cannot change it. Make sure you're comfortable with the ID.

    • 6

Select "Continue" to review your account information. Read over the terms and conditions and select "Create Account."
