How to Convert PC Games Into PSP Format

With the right software, you can download and play PC video games anywhere you want on your PSP. Though the PSP is limited by its low memory and simple button layout, it is a fitting platform for older DOS-based games such as Duke Nukem 3D and Grand Theft Auto. Most DOS games are small enough to fit on PSP memory sticks, which come in a range of sizes.

Instructions

Download a program that allows you to control DOS on your PSP such as DOSBox (see resource). Save the program to your PSP by connecting your PSP to your computer using a USB cord. Plug the smaller end of the USB cord into the top of the PSP and plug the bigger end into your computer. Windows explorer will prompt you to choose a program to open your PSP. Use the folder option to open your PSP and save the program to the "Games" folder.

Install the PC game that you want to play while your PSP is still plugged in. When you are prompted to select the folder you want to save the game into, select the "Games" folder.

    • 3

Disconnect your PSP once the installation is complete and restart it. Once your PSP is turned on, scroll right until you get to the "Games" folder and scroll down until you get to the "Memory Stick" option. Scroll down until you get to the program you downloaded and start it.

Hit the circle button on the PSP to bring up the keyboard and type "cd/games." When you are prompted, hit the circle button once again and type "cd/" followed by the names of the games you installed. Type the name of the executable file that you downloaded--".exe" is at the end of this file.
