How to Download RAR Themes Onto a PSP

When downloading themes for your PSP from a third-party website, you may find that they come with the RAR file extension name. This means that the files have been archived, or compressed, and you'll have to unpack the files using an archiving program. This may sound complicated, but it's a fairly simple process. You'll need to download a free archiving program like WinRAR, and the rest is easy. By following just a few simple steps, you'll be using your new PSP themes in no time.

Things You'll Need

Standard USB cable
WinRAR or similar program

  Download WinRAR and install it on your computer (see Resources).

  Run WinRAR and use it to unpack your RAR theme files. While the program is working, plug your PSP into your computer with the USB cable and set it to "USB Mode" by selecting "USB Settings" from the "Settings" menu.

  Open the PSP memory stick by clicking on its corresponding icon in "My Computer" and locating the "Theme" folder. Copy the unpacked theme files into this folder.

  Disconnect your PSP from the computer and go to "Settings" and "Theme Settings" to set your new PSP themes.
