My PSP USB Won't Work After Firmware Update

The PlayStation Portable can update its operating system from firmware updates provided by Sony through the Internet or off PSP game discs. Installing a version of the firmware that predates version 3.0 will remove the PSP's ability to use its USB port. You can fix the PSP so that the USB port again will function by installing the firmware from a recently released game to the PSP. Installing the firmware update does not damage the PSP, nor does it affect its warranty in any way.
