How to Make a USB Power Charger for a PSP

You can charge your PSP without using the included AC adapter. Just plug it into a computer or PS3 using a Mini-B USB cable, the kind used by most digital cameras. However, if you don't have a Mini-B USB cable, you can make one out of a A-to-A USB cable and a Mini-B to A USB adapter. With the right equipment and proper knowledge, making your own PSP USB charger shouldn't take longer than five minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the USB cable into the female end--the A port--of the USB adapter.

    • 2

Plug the male end--the Mini-B plug--into the Mini-B port on the top of the PSP.

    • 3

Plug the other end of the USB cable into your computer or PS3. If the power indicator light on the PSP turns orange, the system battery is being charged.
